During the summers of 2002 and 2003, Convercité did a vast study aimed at getting to know the clientele that shops on Montreal's main commercial arteries. Over 14,000 consumers were interviewed on 51 streets.
The information that was collected led to the creation of a map for each street, showing where its shoppers come from and giving a global picture of their consumption habits on several levels, i.e.: respondents' profiles, motives for their visit, type of transportation used, type of shops visited, average amount spent, and perceptions regarding security, cleanliness, accessibility and street activity.
